Indian Oil commissions 100 KW solar power plant in its LPG Bottling Plant at Leh

Indian Oil’s bottling plant in Phey village of Leh district situated at 11,800 ft is the world’s highest LPG bottling plant supplying LPG to the Indian Army and the far flung areas of the region. Indian Oil has now commissioned a 100 KW solar power plant at the location to run the bottling plant’s operations. The plant not being connected to the electricity grid was run using a Diesel generator which consumed more than 45000 Litres of Diesel fuel annually. Now with solar plant commissioned, the diesel consumption will be reduced by 30000 Litres annually, reducing pollution in the area and saving precious fuel.

Indian Oil is committed to transforming India’s energy landscape with renewable energy even in the most difficult of terrains and truly is the energy of India.
